YOUTH AT THE CENTER REPORT
The Youth at the Center Report, commissioned by the California Health & Human Services Agency (CalHHS) and the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), outlines the collective vision of children, youth, families, and community members across California for a reimagined behavioral health ecosystem. The Social Changery gathered insights from over 600 individuals through meetings facilitated by 26 partner organizations, to create 12 key calls-to-action for California to consider in its efforts to enhance support for the emotional, mental, and behavioral health needs of young people and their families.
This report serves as a cornerstone for guiding and evaluating the initiatives of the CYBHI—a five-year, $4.6 billion endeavor aimed at transforming the state’s approach to supporting children, youth, and families. By incorporating the diverse voices and needs of California’s populations, the Youth at the Center Report provides a benchmark for assessing the effectiveness of CYBHI’s programs in addressing the 12 calls-to-action. It ensures that the ongoing transformation of the behavioral health ecosystem remains aligned with the priorities and expectations of the communities it serves.
