Overview
The Social Changery is seeking a top notch Creative Director to lead the production of seven 15-minute training videos for an outside client who is a healthcare delivery industry leader headquartered in Northern California. The videos will utilize both animation and taped interviews of people sharing personal stories to train managers and other staff in best practices for addressing mental health in the workplace. Four videos will be completed by April 2019 with the remaining three in the series completed by June 2019.
The Creative Director is responsible for the creative design, production and overall quality of work produced by the creative team which includes an animation/illustration team, a branding professional, and videography team.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the creative process from concept to completion
Manage contract team members including designers, illustrator/animators, videographers, who work remotely and usually outside of regular business hours
Interact with and respond to web developers building platform for videos to ensure compliance with technical standards.
Lead and direct the creative team in the production of all videos
Monitor results of team efforts and processes and propose actions for the future
Ensure visual communication, brand and creative standards, and video objectives are met
Oversee deliverables, timelines and budgets
Collaborate with clients and The Social Changery leadership to obtain campaign goals and deliverables and propose creative solutions for goals
Review work with client, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative teams
Participate in focus groups and testing of videos with audience
Flexible availability in order to ensure timely communication with team members working outside of regular business hours
The ideal candidate has least five to eight years of experience, a strong understanding and hands on experience of industry trends, creative processes, and creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, and experience managing a range of creative positions, such as graphic designer, art director and copywriter. The Creative Director must have exceptional leadership, communication, organization, presentation, problem-solving, analytical, and project-management skills. In addition, the successful candidate must have strong interpersonal soft skills that enable them to inspire creativity and work well with different personality types.
The project is based in Sacramento, CA and will require attendance at in person meetings with the client up to a maximum of one day per week, with meeting frequency varying according to the project cycle. The Creative Director reports to The Social Changery Project Director.

Management of video production team using industry standard equipment and software, to include:
Video-editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro)
Graphic and visual effects software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
Video and audio equipment (cameras, lighting, speakers, headphones, microphones)
Previous experience in mental health, social change, organizational culture transformation or other highly nuanced subject matter is a plus

Operationalizer - Ability to turn client / learner feedback and strategic group decisions into concrete actionable items for the production team
Ownership and Execution - Takes responsibility for the success of the creative decisions and direction of the project. Demonstrates impeccable follow through; holds everyone to agreed-upon standards for design/brand fidelity across project elements;gets things done on time, on-budget and as-promised.
Process Manager- Ensures creative/production processes (storyboarding, feedback integration, etc.) are effectively and efficiently meeting the goals of the project
Resilience- Able to handle curveballs with poise and positivity; responds well to change
